We’re excited to share that the Lehigh Center for Clinical Research (LCCR) was named the 2023 Top Clinical Trial Services Provider by Life Sciences Review! We were honored to read their thoughtful award post that describes our dedication to clinical research and patient care. For over 20 years, LCCR has been leading the charge in clinical research, always pushing to find tomorrow’s treatments today. Our hard work and commitment have earned us many accolades, including Allentown’s Business Hall of Fame award for seven straight years.
Our Journey and Achievements
Our success is a team effort, thanks to our amazing doctors, investigators, study coordinators, and recruiters. Each one of them plays a crucial role in working closely with the patients who join our studies. Together, we’ve made significant strides in understanding various medical conditions and developing new treatments.
In the heart of the Lehigh Valley, our state-of-the-art facility offers unmatched care. From advanced lab equipment to top-notch imaging capabilities and an innovative temperature monitoring system, we can handle the most complex trial protocols. This dedication has helped us consistently meet and exceed our goals in studies focusing on conditions like Alzheimer’s, anxiety, depression, fibromyalgia, memory issues, migraines, schizophrenia, and orthopedic problems.
As Vince Gillen, LCCR’s Executive Director said in the post, “One of our secrets to success is our proactive approach to clearing up misconceptions about clinical trials and making sure all our patients fully understand the purpose, risks, and alternatives”
This focus on transparency and education not only boosts participant engagement but also helps combat misinformation. Our extensive patient database, featuring over 39,000 patients (with 9,000 currently active), shows the trust LCCR has built within the community. To further this trust, we provide all necessary study medications, doctor’s exams, and medical procedures at no cost to those who qualify for trials.
Building Strong Community Connections
Our patient-focused approach and consistent care have set LCCR apart in an industry full of mergers and takeovers. Since opening in 2001, we’ve remained independent and autonomous, providing stable and reliable care to our patients.
When asked about the most vital role at LCCR, Gillen quickly highlighted our coordinators. “Every staff member is crucial to our success, but the coordinators are the lifeblood of any clinical research site. I’d put ours up against any in the country—they’re that good,” he says. With no coordinator having less than ten years of experience at LCCR, their expertise and dedication are unmatched.
While it’s tough to pinpoint just one reason for LCCR’s success, it’s clear that our mix of patient-centric care, innovative research, and community involvement has created a winning formula. We’re honored to receive this award and excited to continue leading the field of clinical research.
