Covance is a global organization that supports pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies around the world as they develop better, more effective treatments for a variety of illnesses and disorders. Much like Lehigh Center, Covance conducts clinic research on trial medications before they are released to the general public. Additionally, they also offer laboratory testing services to the chemical, agrochemical and food industries, and provide commercialization services as well.
The company’s origins began in 1968, when the Environmental Sciences Corporation was founded. After decades of steady growth and several mergers and acquisitions, Covance was officially established in 1997. Now owned by Labcorp, a world leader in healthcare diagnostics, Covance provides comprehensive drug development services.
Covance’s research efforts are concentrated in the following fields of study:
- Diabetes and Endocrinology
- Infectious Diseases
- Non-Alchoholic Steatohepatitis
- Rare Disease and Orphan Drugs
Covance has had a hand in the development of each of the 50 best-selling drugs currently on the market. They are one of the largest contract research organizations in the world.
Lehigh Center partners with companies like Covance to share knowledge and data, continuously working to improve quality of life for those that suffer with neurological disorders. We conduct clinical trials for medications that treat Alzheimers, Depression, Binge Eating, Fibromyalgia and more.
